Solon confirms manhunt for Harry Roque over contempt order
by Mary Antalan16 September 2024

Surigao del Norte 2nd District Representative Robert Ace Barbers confirmed that manhunt operations are underway for former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

This follows an arrest order issued after Roque was cited for contempt in the recent Quad Committee hearing.

"May kasamang arrest order noong siya ay na-cite for contempt noong huling hearing. Inutusan ang ating Sgt. at Arms kasama ang PNP na tumulong to serve the order," said Barbers during an exclusive interview with DZRH's Dos Por Dos.

Barber noted that Roque’s contempt citation was due to his failure to submit the documents he had promised to provide. Furthermore, the lawyer did not attend two scheduled hearings and failed to give any reason for his absence.

Barbers also mentioned that Roque's financial dealings and relationship with AR dela Serna were of interest to the committee. He noted concerns over Roque’s Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), particularly a significant increase in assets.

Barbers confirmed that Roque remains in the country, as no information regarding his departure has surfaced. No lookout bulletin was also issued.

The Quad Committee has scheduled another hearing for Thursday, inviting Roque and other key figures.

Barbers stressed that cooperation would be critical, warning that failure to do so may result in stricter measures.

"Magandang pagkakataon ito para manawagan sa kaniya, cooperation lang at huwag pambabastos," said the lawmaker.
