South Korean record label PLEDIS Entertainment announced Thursday, Oct. 19, that SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups would not participate in promotional activities for their 11th Mini Album to focus on his recovery.
“S.Coups sustained a tear in his left anterior cruciate ligament and underwent anterior cruciate ligament and anterolateral ligament reconstruction surgery. He is currently receiving post-care surgery care and is focusing on his recovery,” South Korean outlet Soompi stated via the agency’s post on WeVerse.
PLEDIS added that S.Coup’s affected ligaments were still vulnerable two months following the surgery. The medical advice also stated that it was best to avoid strenuous activities.
The K-pop idol, however, “was committed to participating in the pre-scheduled activities,” according to the record label.
“However, we believed that it was in his best interest to prioritize his recovery and rehabilitation above all else at this time. Therefore, it will be difficult for S.Coups to participate in most of his official activities, including SEVENTEEN’s promotional activities for their 11th Mini album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN. Thank you very much for your kind understanding,” PLEDIS said.
Meanwhile, S.Coups brought it to WeVerse and shared that he must abide by the rehabilitation process to see his fans despite wanting to participate in promotional activities.
“You don’t like it when I apologize, so rather than feeling sorry, I’ll strengthen my resolve and work harder on my recovery to show you a healthier me as soon as possible,” he added.
SEVENTEEN is gearing up for their 11th Mini Album, “SEVENTEEN HEAVEN,” and recently released the official trailer for their song “God of Music.”
