The Bureau of Correction (BuCor) will have to explain the incident involving the Bilibid inmate who managed to escape at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) and was recently found in Sitio Manggahan, Brgy. San Isidro Angono, Rizal, Senator Francis Tolentino said Friday.

Tolentino, who chairs the Senate Committee on Justice, said that the Senate will investigate how a person deprived of liberty (PDL) was left out of the Bilibid.

Michael Cataroja, 26, was sentenced to 12–20 years in prison for violating the anti-fencing law.

He was arrested on Thursday in Barangay San Isidro, Angono, Rizal, following the tip given by the informants about where he was hiding.
