The Senate of the Philippines has elected its new committee leaders for the 20th Congress.

Below is the first list of senators and the respective committees they have been elected to chair.

On Monday, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero was re-elected Senate President, gaining a total of 19 votes, as opposed to fellow nominee Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, who received five votes.

Meanwhile, the Minority Bloc, led by Sotto, convened its first caucus on Tuesday. In the meeting, Senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Loren Legarda, Risa Hontiveros, and Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri discussed their legislative priorities and plans for the next session.
