Senator Erwin Tulfo expressed his gratitude to Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto and fellow senators following his appointment as acting chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Wednesday, October 8.

Tulfo thanked the Senate leadership and his colleagues for the trust they placed in him. He also expressed hope that a permanent chairperson will be appointed soon.

“Batid ko po na maraming kababayan nati ang umaasa sa komiteng ito na imbestigahan ang lahat ng mga nagsamantala sa pera ng bayan, ano pa man ang katungkulan nila sa pamahalaan o kulay ng politika,” he added, noting the committee’s role in holding public officials accountable regardless of rank or political affiliation.

Following the vacancy left by Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson and the absence of any other nominee, Tulfo, the committee’s Vice Chairman, automatically assumed the position.

In earlier reports, Senators Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, JV Ejercito, and Pia Cayetano were identified as candidates for the chairmanship of the committee.
