Presidential candidate and Vice President Leni Robredo will continue the 'build, build, build” program of President Rodrigo Duterte's administration but will transform it into a 'rural version' to address the needs of the farmers of the country.

The said newer version of the program will focus on post-harvest facilities like cold storage to preserve the harvest and agricultural products which is a huge help to farmers.

Aside from this, Robredo will also put an effort to stop the smuggling in the sector of agriculture and will revise the rice tarrification law.

According to former Congressman Teddy Baguilat, who is now running for senator under the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem, this is the first time that the issues and complaints of the farmers are being heard in the campaign and platforms of a candidate.

He noted that if the fertilizer is lacking, the harvest is thin, there will be small production, and there will be an increase in prices that may cause the lack of food at the dining table which causes malnutrition.

Baguilat also brought into awareness the continuing conflict between Russia and Ukraine which continuously affects the prices of food, gasoline, and fertilizer in the Philippines.
