K-pop idol Rocky officially left his group Astro and label Fantagio following the expiration of his contract.
On Feb 28, he wrote a letter in his fan cafe, confirming his withdrawal from the boy group.
"I will be leaving Fantagio, who I have been with for 14 years and will end my activities with ASTRO. The time promoting as ASTRO's Rocky was very precious to me," it read, addressed to AROHAs, their fandom name.
He expressed gratitude for the years of love and support from group members and fans.
"My members, who have been with me during those times and especially AROHAs, my biggest strengths, I thank you all sincerely," he added.
Meanwhile, Fantagio confirmed in November that other members JinJin, Cha Eun Woo, Moonbin, and Sanha have renewed their contracts in the agency.
Along with Rocky's letter, they also released a statement verifying the news of the artist's withdrawal from them.
"ASTRO will continue on as a five-member group in the future, and together with Fantagio, the members will be focusing on unit and solo activities for the time being.," the agency said.
The six-member group debuted in 2016 gaining popularity from appearing in different WEB dramas. They also released some hit songs Candy Sugar Pop (2022) and Blue Flame (2019).
