The Regional Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC) Task Force Negros Oriental is set to enforce a curfew on the whole province ahead of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023.
Resolution No. 001 dated Oct. 24 but released only on Oct. 25 stated that curfew aims to thwart "vote-buying, threats, intimidation and violence against the voters, candidates, and election workers."
The curfew shall take effect at 10 PM on Oct. 28 until 4 AM on Oct. 29.
"No person shall be allowed to stay outside her and his respective home, dormitory, condominium building, or other similar building used as dwelling between the hours of 10:00 PM until 4AM the following day," the order reads.

Exempted from the curfew are business process outsourcing (BPO) workers, health workers, and those engaged in the business of transporting goods or services during the curfew hours.
The aforementioned individuals only have to present "proof of employment or other similar supporting documents" to authorized law enforcement.
The resolution stated that those who violate the curfew "shall be detained for the duration of the curfew hours and released at 5 AM thereafter."
In August this year, the Commission on Election (Comelec) placed the entire Negros Oriental under Comelec control.
