The Department of Education (DepEd) has already kicked off the implementation of the revised K–10 curriculum on Monday, September 25, in 35 participating schools in the seven regions that were chosen for the pilot testing.

According to DepEd Assistant Secretary Francis Bringas, orientations and training have been conducted for teachers and other school division office personnel.

With this, he said they are ready to start the implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum.

Bringas added that lesson examples and learning activity sheets have been prepared, and the available resources aligned with the competencies will be used.

The DepEd assistant secretary also mentioned that they will monitor and visit the 35 participating schools in the said pilot testing.

Moreover, the fixed curriculum at the mentioned academic levels will be implemented in the school year 2024-2025, while the changes for grades 2, 5, and 8 will be imposed for the year 2025-2026, and those grades 3, 6, and 9 will be added to the school year 2026-2027.

Meanwhile, Tinajeros National High School in Malabon City is the first school to start the implementation of the MATATAG curriculum in the whole National Capital Region (NCR) and was attended by Mayor Jeannie Sandoval.
