Residents of former Makati EMBO barangays are now able to vote for congressmen in Taguig. However, several residents expressed difficulty in deciding who to vote for.
So Many times since we are in the service, dito kami sa Makati tapos biglang nag-Taguig, easily alam namin yung mga taga Makati. We don know well 'yung mga taga Taguig," said a resident interviewed by RH Jecelle Ricafort.
"Mahirap po bumoto kasi hindi po namin kakilala sila. Hindi po namin alam kung ano po yung mga nagawa at magagawa pa nila. Wala naman po silang paramdam sa amin," said a motor taxi driver.

On Wednesday, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that the 10 Embo barangays in Taguig City can now vote for the representatives of their respective districts in the 2025 midterm elections.
It can be recalled on June 26, 2023, the Supreme Court denied the Makati government's request for a second appeal in the dispute over the territory of Taguig City's Fort Bonifacio, which includes Barangays Pembo, Comembo, Cembo, South Cembo, West Rembo, East Rembo, and Pitogo.
The court ruled that these areas are part of the territory of Taguig.
The Supreme Court’s Third Division definitively rejected Makati's plea for reconsideration on September 22, 2022.
