

New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC) President Ramon S. Ang has pledged to personally shoulder the medical expenses of the victims of a vehicular accident that occured at the departure area of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
In a statement, Ang said he will cover all the medical expenses of the four individuals injured and provide financial assistance to the the families of the two who lost their lives in the crash.
“This is a very tragic incident. Our priority now is to make sure the victims and their families receive the support and care they need,” said Ang.
According to NNIC's initial report, the incident left two fatalities and four others injured after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) suddenly accelerated, breaking through the outer railing and plowing into the pedestrian walkway near the terminal entrance.
The driver of the SUV is currently in police custody while the investigation remains ongoing.
NNIC assured the public of its full cooperation as it coordinates closely with law enforcement and emergency response teams in the investigation.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased and wish those injured a full and speedy recovery," the company added.
