Over 80 million Filipinos have been successfully enrolled in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
As of July 11, 2023, a total of 80,004,098 Filipinos have completed their PhilSys registration.
PSA National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Dennis Mapa, who also serves as the National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, acknowledged the significance of this achievement.
“This is a significant portion of our entire population. The PSA is now down to the last mile of our target registration for PhilSys. This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work of our field personnel, our collaboration with partner agencies, and most importantly, the steadfast support of the public for the project,” he said.
Mapa further urged all Filipinos to register for PhilSys at any of the registration centers nationwide, emphasizing that even minors aged five and above, accompanied by their parents or guardians, are eligible for registration.
To facilitate the registration process for students and their parents, PSA field offices have organized school-based registration activities.
Furthermore, mobile registration services are continuously reaching Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) to ensure that residents in remote locations can easily register.
Registration initiatives have also expanded to include various institutions.
Recently, the PSA partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to facilitate the institutional registration of delivery riders across the country.
Simultaneously, as the number of registered individuals continues to rise, Filipinos are reaping the benefits of PhilSys registration, as more establishments recognize and accept the PhilID and ePhilID for various transactions.
