The Philippines’ overall or headline inflation slowed down to 1.3% in May 2025, from 1.4% in April, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said.

Based on its inflation report, released on June 5, the country’s overall inflation slowed to 1.3%, from 2.1% in February 2025, 1.8% in March 2025, and 1.4% in April.

For May 2025, the main drivers for the headline inflation’s downward trend were caused by the slower annual increment with housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, which stood at 2.3%, compared to 2.9% in April 2025.

The PSA also found that restaurant and accommodation services contributed to the overall inflation at 2.0% in May 2025. In addition, the country’s transport index stood at 2.4% from a 2.1% annual drop in April 2025.
