The prices on over 100 Noche Buena items have gone up just about a month before this year’s Christmas festivities, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
DTI’s price guide logged an increase in the prices of 102 products out of the 236 stock-keeping units (SKU) under categories identified as Christmas Eve celebration goods, such as ham, queso de bola, cheese, all-purpose cream, mayonnaise, spaghetti pasta, elbow and salad macaroni, and fruit cocktail. Prices on 121 products remained the same, and a decrease was noted in 13 product prices.
The following prices are effective until December 31, 2024:
- Ham: ₱170.00 - ₱928.50
- Queso de bola: ₱210.00 - ₱445.00
- Fruit cocktail: ₱61.76 - ₱302.50
- Cheese: ₱56.50 - ₱310.00
- Mayonnaise: ₱20.40 - ₱245.85
- All-purpose cream: ₱36.50 - ₱72.00
- Sandwich spread: ₱27.00 - ₱263.60
- Spaghetti pasta: ₱32.00 - ₱114.00
- Elbow macaroni: ₱30.50 - ₱126.25
- Salad macaroni: ₱36.50 - ₱126.25
- Tomato sauce: ₱16.50 - ₱92.85
Among the products which have seen an uptick in costs in comparison to the previous year are ham (ranging between ₱169.00 and ₱898.50 in 2023), fruit cocktail (somewhere between ₱57.72 and ₱293.86), spaghetti pasta (₱25.50 to ₱113.00), and elbow macaroni (₱23.00 to ₱124.00).
