President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has named Michael Aguinaldo as the new chairman of the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC).
He was included in the list of the new government appointees posted by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Wednesday, January 11.
Aguinaldo will serve as PhCC chair until January 7, 2030.
Prior to his appointment to the PhCC, he was the chairperson of the Commission on Audit (COA).
In 2015, Aguinaldo was tapped as the external auditor of the World Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization, and the International Labour Organization of the United Nations.
He obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1992 and has professionally worked as a private law practitioner, government official, and professor for over 25 years.
