A change in Congress leadership looms as speculation grows about House Speaker Martin Romualdez leaving his post.

RH Milky Rigonan reported on Tuesday, September 16, that a change in House leadership would be determined on Wednesday. Moreover, there are talks that Deputy Speaker and Isabela 6th District Rep. Faustino “Bojie” Dy III would be replacing Romualdez.

Before this, names of other lawmakers such as: Antipolo 1st District Rep. Ronaldo Puno, Cebu 5th District Rep. Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco, Navotas lone district Rep. Toby Tiangco, and Bacolod lone district Rep. Alfredo “Albee” Benitez, were among those considered by the public.

According to Rigonan’s report, the transition would be implemented tomorrow, September 17, in line with their session.

This contrasts with Deputy Speaker and La Union 1st District Rep. Paolo Ortega’s statement, where he previously said that there would be no leadership change, stating “the House is one, the House is solid, and there is no change in leadership.”
