“Maraming chismis, pero sabi ko nga, chismis…mga bulong-bulong. As you can see, the House is one, the House is solid, and there is no change in leadership,” Ortega said in an ambush interview.
On Wednesday, September 10, RH Milky Rigonan reported that House Speaker Martin Romualdez would retain his position amid rumors about a change of leadership in Congress. This follows Vicente “Tito” Sotto III’s election as Senate President, replacing Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
According to the lawmaker, the House leaders conducted a meeting earlier today, tackling their plans. In the thick of political noise, Ortega assured that House leaders have reached an agreement in discussing the 2026 national budget.
On Tuesday, September 9, the Senate Minority Bloc was finalized, with Senator Alan Peter Cayetano serving as its leader.
