Another Kadiwa outlet, this time dubbed as Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) Para sa Mangagagawa, has been launched by President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. on Wednesday at the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) head office in Quezon City.

The latest KNP outlet is part of the Marcos administration's continuing expansion of the Kadiwa centers nationwide, which aims to give a platform to Filipino farmers, fisherfolk, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and enable them to generate more income through direct farm-to-consumer trade.

Marcos added that the initiative is also part of his administration’s program to cushion and counter the effects of the rising inflation in the country.

‘Di ipinagpatuloy namin hanggang naging Kadiwa ng Pangulo,” he explained.

The President also acknowledged the vital role of the labor force in the economic development and progress of the country.

Marcos also thanked and recognized the various government agencies for collaborating and coordinating with each other in putting up Kadiwa outlets nationwide.

The KNP Para sa Manggagawa is an expansion of the highly successful Kadiwa program led by the Office of the President (OP) together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), National Food Authority (NFA) and local government units (LGUs).

Participating in Wednesday’s Kadiwa caravan are around 33 sellers from the DA, DTI, DOLE, and sellers brought in by the Quezon City government.

DOLE is providing wages for participating sellers under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
