President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has appointed Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, a retired chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), as the new Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary.
The appointment was confirmed by DOH in a statement on Sunday, Oct. 23.
“Yes, we confirm the receipt of the appointment papers of Mr. Camilo Cascolan, Atty. Charade Mercado-Grande and several directors,“ it said.
DOH said the assignments of the newly-appointed officials would be disclosed soon.
Malacañang has yet to release Cascolan’s appointment papers.
Cascolan was named as the PNP Chief during the administration of former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte. But he tendered his resignation after reaching retirement age of 56 on Nov. 10, 2020.
A year after, he was then tapped as the undersecretary of the Office of the President (OPS).
