President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday received his second booster shot in the “Pinas Lakas” event, a nationwide booster vaccine campaign held in Manila.

He was joined by his son Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos who also got vaccinated.

It was Department of Health (DOH) officer-in-chief Maria Rosario Vergere who administered the Pfizer vaccine to the President.

Manila City Mayor Honey Lacuna gave the same brand of booster shot to Sandro.

In his speech, the President again underscored the importance of booster shots and said it will “immunized” or protect Filipinos against the Omicron variant and other new variants present.

Marcos also mentioned that the local government units (LGU) play an important role in the vaccine rollout.

He hoped that the public will be encouraged to follow their lead and receive booster shot.

About 17,152,939 booster dose have been administered nationwide as of August 16, according to Department of Health (DOH).
