Prez Duterte leaves Palace, to skip Marcos inauguration
by Christhel Cuazon30 June 2022
President Rodrigo Duterte left Malacañang Palace on Thursday, June 30 — hours after his term ends.
Duterte left the Palace shortly after receiving departure honors from the military inside the Palace grounds.
He earlier welcomed President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos in the Palace, who paid his final courtesy call to the outgoing leader.
According to National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., Duterte will not be attending the oath-taking ceremony of Marcos at the National Museum as he is set to fly to his hometown Davao City via a commercial flight right after the departure honors.

At exactly 12 noon later, Marcos will be sworn in as the 17th President of the Philippines.
