President Bongbong Marcos has encouraged Filipinos to visit the different tourist destinations in the country during the long weekend in order to boost the nation’s economy.
In a weekly vlog posted on the President’s facebook page, he noted that leisure trips can help the Philippines recover from the effects of the pandemic.
“Maliwanag na maliwanag ang gagampanang papel ng tourismo sa ating tuloy tuloy na pagbangon,” he said
(It is clear that the role of tourism is part of our continuous recovery.)
(From the start, we have referred to the industry of tourism as one of the keys of recovery in order to uplift the economy.)
Particularly, he encouraged the public to use the 4-day holiday this coming ‘Undas’ to visit the different tourist destinations in the country.
(For those who have easier protocols, your trips are a big contribution because the ones you put out are the same ones that enter and cycle the local economies. That is the bayanihan (mutual cooperation for public good) of tourism.)
Last October 18, he signed a proclamation regarding October 31 as a special non-working holiday with an aim to for family bonding and promote tourism.
