A suspected Porac POGO manager was found hiding at a hotel in Clark, Pampanga.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Police Major General Leo Francisco announced in a press conference on Friday, June 28, that they had arrested the suspected "big boss" Chinese national at the Fontana Leisure Hotel and Casino.
Officers of the CIDG, Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), and the Special Action Force (SAF) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) charged into Fontana the night before. The search warrant for the suspected raid escapee was brought about by the prior investigations made into the Porac, Pampanga scam hub.
"Yes, that’s why we applied for the search warrant because he is one of our subjects," Francisco answered when asked whether the unnamed suspect was a "big boss."
Aside from making the arrest, law enforcers seized 14 safety vaults among the five villas within the Mabalacat hotel.
The casino resort was not only a place to lie low but also involved in "small-scale" POGO operations.
“From our information and the revelations from those who were rescued from two big scamming hubs, they are also being used as a place to have this kind of activity,” the CIDG director said.
The suspect is currently under investigation.
Authorities are preparing to charge him with human trafficking, violation of the access device law, and physical injury.
