The Philippine National Railways (PNR) temporarily halted operations on Tuesday, June 17, for the Lucena-Calamba-Lucena route, to give way for the train’s “major repair.”
“Ang pagsasaayos ng nasabing tren ay bilang tugon sa utos ng Pangulo na siguraduhing ligtas at maayos ang byahe ng mga komyuter na gumagamit ng PNR,” the PNR wrote in its social media announcement on Tuesday, June 17.
The agency announced that the repair would take three to four weeks, but they assured that they aim to resume operations by the first or second week of July.
In continuation of the "maintenance works" in April, the PNR would carry out thorough repairs for the rails, embankments, and bridges.
