Five police officials received new positions following another reorganization in the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Based on an order by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil dated May 4, PBGen. Eleazar Mata now heads the Drug Enforcement Group of the law enforcement organization.

Mata, the former chief of Caraga Police Regional Office, replaced PBGen. Dionisio Bartolome, who took the helm of the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit, Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.

Meanwhile, PMGen. Edgar Alan Okubo stepped down as chief of the Directorate for Police Community Relations, and will now lead the Civil Security Group.

PNP also announced the appointment of PBGen. Romaldo Bayting as Area Police Commander of Western Mindanao.

The term of PBGen. Jonathan Cabal as director of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNP) comes to an end as he succeeds Bayting as director of the PNP Maritime Group.

The latest reshuffling of PNP officials takes effect on Monday, May 6.
