Police presence is now noticeable at border control and checkpoints in Metro Manila as 36,000 personnel are deployed for the start of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) filing today.
In a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, there are noticeable border controls at the boundaries of Manila surrounding the Commission on Elections – National Capital Region (Comelec-NCR).
Additionally, more checkpoints are expected to be added at any time today.

Meanwhile, from yesterday until now, Comelec-NCR is still considering closing a portion of Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue to motorists, specifically between Barangay Greenhills in San Juan City and Barangay Valencia in Quezon City, where the COMELEC Regional Office in Metro Manila is located.
Traffic in the vicinity is usually congested, even on ordinary days, which could lead to further gridlock when candidates flock to the area.
While no road closures or rerouting measures have been implemented yet, traffic is expected to increase with the start of the COC filing today.
