The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now intensively preparing for the homecoming of the Filipino athletes who represented the country in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
According to Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, spokesperson for the PNP, the National Capital Regional Command is responsible for the security plan for the return of the Olympians.
Fajardo assured that the PNP has sufficient personnel to provide security, particularly for the parade scheduled for tomorrow.
Later today at 5:00 PM, the plane carrying the athletes is scheduled to arrive at Villamor Air Base, after which they will proceed to the reception at Malacañang.
In addition to the PNP, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will hold a press briefing today to discuss the upcoming hero’s welcome and the roads that will be affected.
The homecoming parade for the Filipino Olympians will be held tomorrow, August 14.
