In collaboration with the Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted an ocular inspection and extracted representative samples of the seized shabu last March 29 at No. 35A Purok 4, Irisan Baguio City, from suspect Mr. Ming Hui, aka "Tan."
In the press release issued by the PNP, the said ocular inspection and getting of representative samples from the confiscated drugs were done promptly in accordance with the court order from Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 61 of Baguio City.
Moreover, the successful anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the law enforcement in partnership with PDEA and police officers in the Cordillera region has been commended by PNP officer-in-charge PLTGen. Rhodel O. Sermonia
Sermonia also acknowledged the judiciary's role in the operation for overseeing the ocular inspection and taking representative samples of the confiscated shabu.
"This is a clear manifestation of our commitment to uphold the rule of law and due process in our anti-drug operations. We fully support the collaboration between the PNP and PDEA in this regard, and we will continue to work together to get rid of the menace of dangerous drugs in our communities and bring to justice those who continue to profit from this illegal trade," said Sermonia.
Meanwhile, in accordance with the law, the remaining dangerous drug items were transported to the PDEA National Headquarters Laboratory Service for their destruction and disposal.
