The Philippine National Police (PNP) is planning to deploy bus marshals following the shooting incident that happened at Carranglan, Nueva Ecija, on Wednesday, November 15.

According to Val Gonzales' report during MBC Network News, Public Information Office Chief and spokesperson Police Col. Jean Fajardo said that the PNP is currently studying the deployment of bus marshals to ensure the security and safety of passengers.

Fajardo further said that PNP is not new to deploy bus marshals, as this was also done in the Mindanao region during the consecutive explosion of buses there.

In addition to marshals, trained dogs can also be used with expertise not only in bombs or explosives but in illegal drugs, she added.

Fajardo, however, said they will first communicate with the management of bus companies for consultation.

On Wednesday, a live-in partner was reportedly shot inside a bus in Brgy. Minuli, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija.

The victims were identified as Gloria Antilano, 60, and Arman Bautista, 55, who came from Cauayan City, Isabela, and were traveling to Tarlac province. They were unexpectedly shot by undentified men.

Authorities are currently investigating whether the crime has something to do with the previous case filed by Antilano regarding carnapping.

“Meron tinutumbok ang kaniyang affidavit. Meron daw natanggap na pagbabanta sa kapatid niya. Ayun yung titingnan natin [kung sino],” he said.

A dashcam footage, where the perpetrators were clearly seen, was also recovered by the authorities, where the perpetrators were clearly seen.

Meanwhile, the PNP believed that the perpetrators were "guns for hire."
