The Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange in cooperation with the Department of Transportation has waived all terminal fees for public transportation throughout this CoVid9 pandemic.

During Dos Por Dos’ Commuter Corner, DOTr Asec. Mark Steven C. Pastor confirmed that all public transportation including jeeps and busses, don’t need to pay they terminal fees at the PITX.

Pastor also said that it’s not just in PITX, but malls have also joined in removing their terminal fees for public transport during the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, as part of the government’s efforts in trying to curb the increasing number of CoVid19 cases in the country, the DOTr is doing its part by launching its own free vaccination drive. Drivers and conductors are encouraged to register online at the PITX and DOTr websites in order to qualify for the program.

Aside from this, those who are fully vaccinated or even received a single dose of vaccine, get to ride the MRT3, LRT2 and PNR trains for free from August 3 to 20. They are currently in negotiations with the LRT1, who is privately owned, if they can arrange some sort of incentives for their commuters.

Pastor reiterated that the mandate of the DOTr and Sec. Arthur Tugade is that they will continue to provide service to the people amid the on-going ECQ. However, they will be very strict in implementing health protocols and only APOR are allowed use public transport.

Pastor also reminded operators and drivers to follow their health protocol guidelines; for UV Express and Taxi, a maximum of two persons per row; for jeepneys, it’s 50 percent capacity only. Violators of these protocols may be facing jail time and or cancelation of their franchise.
