The Philippines finished the 2023 World Combat Games with three gold medals.
Darius Venerable snagged the final gold medal of the country in the multi-sport event that ran from October 10 until October 30 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Venerable claimed the gold in the men's taekwondo individual poomsae event on Sunday, October 29, after tallying 9.280 points.
The Filipino bested Lee Namhum of South Korea, who won the silver medal with a score of 9.200 points, and Darren Yap Zong Han of Singapore, who finished in third place with a score of 9.100 points.
Kaila Napolis started the gold medal haul after she defeated Anael Pannetier of France, 2-0, in the finals of the women's jiu-jitsu under-52 kilograms ne-waza event.
The pair of Rhichien Yosorez and Kylie Mallari also snagged a gold medal after topping the mixed Mai Muay event with a score of 9.20 points.
The Filipino pair of Mai Philip Delarmino and Ariel Lampacan bagged the silver medal in the event after registering a score of 9.03 points.
Aside from the three gold medals, the Philippine delegation also brought home five silver medals and five bronze medals.
