The military remains at the forefront of disaster response operations, focusing on areas devastated by Typhoon Pepito.
According to Col. Maria Consuelo Castillo, spokesperson for the Philippine Air Force (PAF), the military’s assets, including transport aircraft such as the C-130, C-295, and utility helicopters, are on standby alert.
Furthermore, PAF has likewise placed search and rescue helicopters on standby.
The PAF’s assets are among the first to be deployed, assisting not only in rescue operations but also in delivering essential relief supplies to affected communities.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Army has also kept its 534 search, rescue, and retrieval teams from major units deployed in the typhoon-affected areas.
According to Col. Louie Dema-ala, spokesperson for the Philippine Army, included in the deployment are the 9th Infantry Division in Bicol, the 2nd Infantry Division in Quezon, and the 7th Infantry Division, which covers Pampanga and several areas in Central Luzon.
