The Philippines retained its global ranking in the 2024 Henley Passport Index.

Based on the exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Henley & Partners' research team, an authoritative ranking of all the world's passports were released on Wednesday.

199 passports were analyzed and ranked based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.

Out of those countries, the Philippines ranked at 73rd with access to 67 visa-free destinations.

Earlier this year, the country had access to 69 destinations, two points higher compared to now. According to Scott Moore, managing director of Henley & Partners, the country's score went down from 69 to 67 due to the broad switch from visa on arrival to e-Visa.

If the Philippine economy continues to grow, improvements on passport strength will be seen.

Countries with the widest reach on trade relations, investments, and economic growth, reap the benefits of having the strongest passports.

Singapore ranked at 1st place with access to 195 visa-free destinations, followed by France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Spain, with access to 192 places.
