The country’s fourth confirmed case of monkeypox has already recovered and no additional symptoms were observed, the Department of Health (DOH) announced.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Oct. 11, DOH disclosed that the 25-year-old Filipino has been discharged.
“Upon further verification, the case was tagged as recovered on the same day the case was discharged from the hospital on September 15,” the DOH said.
“[The] case has met the required criteria for de-isolation,” it added.
Last Aug. 19, the 25-year-old Filipino with no travel history in any country has reportedly tested and confirmed positive of the disease and was sent to an isolation facility.
The health department said the 20 identified close contacts of the said patient were all asymptomatic.
The first monkeypox case had recovered and was discharged last Aug. 6. While the second and third cases likewise recovered and discharged.
The first monkeypox case in the country was reported in July.
The World Health Organization (WHO) earlier declared Monkeypox a public health emergency of international concern.
