The Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) said on Tuesday that it is still hoping for Senator Christopher "Bong" Go to continue his bid for the presidency after he earlier announced his withdrawal from the race.

PDDS president Greco Belgica told DZRH that their party, which adopted Go for the presidency, will be meeting with the senator to discuss their next steps.

"Siyempre kami ay umaasa na ang aming kandidato ay tutuloy," said the PDDS president.

(Of course, we are hoping that our candidate will push through.)

Go has yet to formalize his withdrawal to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), which said that it will not be accepting filings because of the holiday

"The Law Department currently has no authority to accept any filings, considering that today is a holiday," Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez told reporters.

According to Belgica, with nothing finalized yet, they will be speaking to Go regarding his announcement.

"Anything is possible until things are made official and formal so kaya nga po mag-uusap kami baka mamaya para itrack dahil of course ang leadership namin nakahanda na po, kailangan linawin," he said.

He added that while the party was open to anything, they did not want Go to withdraw his candidacy because they want to continue the plans of the administration.

"We heard what we heard, we will be meeting and regrouping para alamin kung ano ang susunod na steps from the president and from Senator Bong Go pero the group continues to stay together and support the plans and purposes of the administration," he said.

Belgica, also a senatorial aspirant, refuted speculations that Go is backing out of the presidential race after the senator made hints of the possibility and said withdrawing is an option.
