

After the China Coast Guard (CCG) targeted a Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel with a water cannon, it collided with a People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA) warship. In response, the PCG promptly offered help and medical assistance to the injured CCG crew members.
This incident occurred due to the hazardous maneuvers and blocking actions by the CCG during the "Kadiwa Para sa Bagong Bayaning Mangingisda" (KBBM) initiative on the morning of August 8.

The CCG's actions led to the collision with the PLA Navy warship, resulting in significant damage to the forecastle of the CCG vessel, rendering it unseaworthy.
PCG successfully delivered support and supplies to 35 Filipino fishing vessels in Scarborough Shoal.
Meanwhile, PCG Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea (WPS), Jay Tarriela, stated that the PCG remains committed to safeguarding all maritime operations.
