

MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. is set to fly to Cambodia to undertake a State Visit and to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Cambodia.
“President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos will undertake a State Visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia on September 7 to 9, 2025 upon the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia,” the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said in a news release on Thursday.
The President and the First Lady will be received by Acting Head of State and Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse, Samdech Kittiprittbindit Bun Rany Hun Sen, on behalf of His Majesty, the PCO stated.
While in Cambodia, the President Marcos is scheduled to a hold a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, to discuss expanding cooperation in combating transnational crimes and enhancing connectivity, as well as in the key sectors of agriculture, higher education, tourism, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Marcos is also expected to deliver his keynote address in a roundtable meeting with key business leaders from both countries to explore ways to diversify sources of goods and expand market access between the two countries, to increase bilateral and intra-ASEAN trade.
The President will meet with the Filipino community in Cambodia as well, who work mostly in the education and services sector, and highlight their contributions to the economic and socio-cultural development of both countries.
There are approximately 7,000 Filipinos living and working in Cambodia, the PCO said.
According to the PCO, the State Visit reciprocated the official visit to the Philippines of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet in February 2025.
The last State Visit by a Philippine President to Cambodia was in 2016.
