President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday ordered to review of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to create a uniform and coordinated approach in times of calamity.
In a report by DZRH’s Leth Narcisco, Marcos instructed this during his Cabinet meeting which discussed the magnitude 7 earthquake that struck Northern Luzon on July 27.
Marcos said SOP should be reviewed to develop immediate step-by-step procedures and a repositioning response in case of calamity alerts.
He particularly mentioned repositioning the following: satellite posts, generators, and water in case alert levels will rise.
Marcos also said that based on his experience, communication is the first thing that needs to do during a disaster, to immediately provide updates about the situation.
The President also tackled the use of air-lift assets as part of the disaster response.
He claimed that this will quickly reach a location to conduct clearing operations.
