President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. highlighted the infrastructure projects lined up for his remaining term, citing that they are not just building for today, but also for tomorrow.
During his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 28, the President emphasized that they have yet to complete several projects.
Mga daan, tulay, tren, paliparan, pantalan, patubig, at murang pabahay,” he said.
Some of those would be completed before the end of Marcos’ presidency. However, most of them would be completed after his term.
“Nagpupundar po kasi tayo para sa kinabukasan. We are not building only for today, we are building also for tomorrow,” Marcos explained.
Railway Project
Trains for the north-south commuter railway are also currently being built to improve the LRT and MRT service. In line with this, the President pointed out that they have raised the discount to persons with disabilities (PWD), senior citizens, and students to 50%.
Moreover, they are also offering the “1+3 pamilya pass” every Sunday, to aid families in their commutes.
Love Bus
Apart from the mentioned projects, the President said they are aiming to bring back the “love bus” from the 1990s, to give commuters free rides.
“Magtatanong ako sa iba sa inyo. Naaalala pa ba ninyo yung tinatawag nating “love bus”?
