President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the distribution of financial assistance to victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and Super Typhoon Leon on Thursday, November 14, in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro.
Each of the 4,546 selected beneficiaries receive Php 10,000 financial assistance.
The Presidential Communications Office said that the Office of the President released a total of 46.14 million cash aid to farmers, fisherfolk, and families in Oriental Mindoro,
President Marcos, meanwhile, reminded the public to follow the warnings and advice of local government units (LGUs) during times of disaster.
The Chief Executive said he has directed the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to urge LGUs to use the geohazard map of DENR-Mines and Geosciences Bureau.
The geohazard map seeks to help LGUs identify areas prone to landslides and floods.
