The administration of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. received a high approval rating on handling 11 out of 13 urgent national concerns, according to the results of the latest Pulse Asia survey.

The survey results showed that the majority of Filipinos or 78 percent approved the present administration’s work in controlling the spread of COVID-19 and responding to the needs of areas affected by the calamity.

The Marcos administration also received a 69 percent approval rating for promoting peace in the country and 68 percent for protecting the welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

As per fighting criminality and enforcing the rule of law, the Marcos administration got an approval rating of 67 percent and 62 percent, respectively.

Most Filipinos also approved of the present administration's work of creating more jobs at 59 percent and increasing workers’ pay at 59 percent.

The administration also got 58 percent approval for fighting graft and corruption in government, 57 percent for protecting the environment, and 52 percent for defending the country’s territorial integrity.

However, the survey also found that 42 percent of Filipinos disapproved while 31 percent approved of how the administration is controlling inflation.

Pulse Asia’s Ulat ng Bayan survey was conducted from Sept. 17 to 21 using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults ages 18 years old and above.

The results were released on Thursday, Oct. 6, two days before Marcos marks his first 100 days in office on October 8.
