The Philippine National Police (PNP) assured that any personnel involved in assisting or facilitating the illegal departure of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo will be held accountable.

“Ongoing pa rin po ang investigation and if when lumabas po sa investigation po natin mayroon pong mga pulis na tumulong po dyan, no sacred cows po dito,” PNP Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo said in a press briefing at Camp Crame on Wednesday.

“Papanagutin po natin ang sino mang pulis na mapapatunayan po nating tumulong ginawa pong pagtakas ni Alice Guo at iba pa," she added.

The PNP made this statement after reports surfaced that several police officers assisted Guo in evading authorities last month.

Fajardo said that the probe continues into how Guo managed to escape the country, possibly by using backdoor routes.

Alice Guo’s alleged sister, Shiela Guo, earlier disclosed that they exited the Philippines by boarding a boat.

However, in other reports, it is alleged that a high-ranking police officer assisted the former mayor last July in her 'escape.'

Several government agencies confirmed the arrest of Alice Guo early this morning in Indonesia, with assistance from foreign counterparts.
