A Philippine Basketball Athlete (PBA) player has tried to commit bribery after being intercepted in the exclusive EDSA busway on Monday, April 15, the Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) reported.
The Department of Transportation's SAICT said the basketball player was identified as Raymond Almazan, a player on the Meralco Bolts team.
According to the report of SAICT Coast Guard Jayson Montemayor, while the operation was being carried out on the EDSA busway, an unauthorized vehicle driven by Almazan dared to pass the carousel.
The operative noticed that he took out the money and folded it up for the said officer.
He was immediately denied and issued a violation ticket for disregarding traffic signs (DTS) and failing to carry an official receipt (OR) or certificate of registration (CR).
