Film director Paul Soriano has taken a leave of absence from his duty as Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) confirmed on Tuesday, July 25.
In a brief statement, PCO Secretary Cheloy Garafil said Soriano filed his leave even before the second State of the Nation (SONA) of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
"He's been on leave since before SONA. Toni is about to give birth," she said.
Soriano was supposed to be the director of Marcos' second SONA, but the role was passed to state-owned media Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM).
Meanwhile, on her Instagram account, Soriano's wife Toni Gonzaga shared a photo of the latter in a lying hospital bed.
She thanked his husband for being with him since early July in going to hospital centers.
"Thank you for never leaving my side in this last stretch. Needed you now more than ever. Thank you for being the best partner, in this journey. Anytime now. Love you @paulsoriano1017," Toni captioned.
The actress is about to give birth of her second child with Soriano.
