The Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) 167 issued an order to hold Alice Guo's transfer to the Female Dormitory of Pasig City Jail, in response to the dismissed mayor's urgent motion to remain in PNP custody.
"The Chief of the NCR CIDG Custodial Facility, Camp Crame, Quezon City is DIRECTED to hold in abeyance the transfer of the custody of the accused-movant pending the resolution of the subject motion," the order read.
The order was issued to assist the court in determining the veracity of the alleged threats to Guo's personal safety and security.
Additionally, it aims to assess whether the Pasig City jail's female dormitory has adequate security measures to ensure the safety and protection of Guo and all Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) currently detained at the facility.
Given that she has already been relocated, Guo will continue to reside at Pasig City jail until a court order mandates her return to Camp Crame, according to Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) spokesperson JSupt. Jayrex Bustinera.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) will oppose the request from Guo's camp to return her to the PNP Custodial Center.
According to PNP Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo, this is the position of the prosecution, led by the Department of Justice (DOJ), which filed the qualified human trafficking case related to the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in Bamban.
In a press briefing at Camp Crame, Fajardo announced that the PNP Legal Service is set to submit its comment opposition today.
This is in compliance with the scheduled hearing of Pasig RTC 167 on September 27 regarding the alleged threats to Guo's life. The PNP Legal Service and the DOJ may find grounds to determine that there is no real threat to Guo's safety.
