The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) firmly believes that Lyu Dong, the alleged big boss of POGOs who was arrested in Biñan, Laguna on Thursday, is connected to former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.
In an interview with DZRH News, PAOCC Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz mentioned that Lyu Dong, also known as Boss Boga, is possibly linked to Guo, as he operates POGOs not only in Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga, but also in other parts of the Philippines.
"Sa China kasi hindi natin alam kung sino ang nagpapatakbo pero as far as dito sa Pilipinas, siya ang nagpapatakbo dito sa atin," said Cruz.
"Pwedeng siya yung binabanggit doon [Senate hearing] na ayaw naman banggitin ni Alice kasi nga nandito pa — syempre yung mga binabanggit niya yung mga wala na dito, mga nasa abroad," he added.
It can be recalled that some names were mentioned in previous hearings and investigations regarding illegal POGOs in the country, including Chinese nationals Duan Ren Wu, Huang Zi Yang, and Xiang Zian, who are all still being sought by authorities.
Lyu Dong has denied the allegations, claiming that he was a victim of mistaken identity.
Currently, Lyu Dong is reportedly the highest-ranking syndicate leader in the country.
Inquest proceedings for immigration law violations are scheduled for today.
Lyu Dong was arrested on Thursday night through a warrant issued by the Philippine National Police and a mission order from the Bureau of Immigration.
Additionally, 12 Chinese nationals and 9 Filipinos, allegedly working for POGO operations, were also arrested.
