Former chief presidential counsel Salvador Panelo said on Wednesday that President Rodrigo Duterte is not liking any of the presidential aspirants so far to succeed him in the 2022 elections.

"Wala siyang sinasabi, sabi niya pag-iisipan niya but apparently wala siyang napupusuan sa mga deklaradong kandidato," Panelo told DZRH in an interview.

(He is not saying anything, he said he will think about it but apparently he is not liking the declared candidates.)

Otherwise, the president would endorsed someone already, according to the former chief presidential counsel.

(But anyway, let’s see because the election is still far.)

"Alam mo naman si presidente palaging nasa loob ng kanyang puso din, even official acts of the president siya lang nakakalaam. Hindi namin nalalaman din, ganun style niya eh. He keeps it to himself until he announces it to the public," he added.

Panelo, who is also seeking a senate seat, said they have yet to discuss within the PDP-Laban's senatorial slate on who to endorse as their president.

"Frankly, hindi kami nag-uusap tungkol diyan. We're busy campaigning for our candidacy," he said.

"But my vice president is Sara Duterte, definitely."

Meanwhile, on Duterte's withdrawal for a senate slot, Panelo said the president will still be there to lead the campaign of the ruling admin's senatorial bets.

"The president's still there, he's going to lead the campaign," he said.
