Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro struck back at Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian 'Baste' Duterte’s accusation that the flood control probe launched by the administration was merely a ‘PR stunt'.
During a press briefing with the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC) on Wednesday, August 27, a member of the media asked Castro about Duterte’s remarks questioning the administration’s motives behind the flood control investigation, arguing that President Marcos cannot escape accountability after three years in office.
In response, Castro asked who the public official was and where he was currently, to which the media replied, “Mayor Baste po, nasa Netherlands.”
“Ah, wala po sa Davao city, okay,” Castro remarked.
“Kung sinasabi niya po na ito’y PR stunt, manood na lamang po siya,” she added.
Moreover, in a previous report, Duterte criticized President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s sincerity, suggesting that if the President were truly serious, he should file a case.
He also said that if the President genuinely wanted to prove himself to the public and seek redemption, he should be the one to go to jail.
