

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) currently being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is still unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, according to the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA).
In a tropical cyclone formation outlook issued at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, DOST-PAGASA reported that as of 8:00 a.m., the LPA was located approximately 150 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
At present, no other LPA or tropical cyclones are being monitored either within or outside the PAR.
Although moderate to heavy rains are expected in Zambales, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite and Batangas in the next two hours
Additionally, in the Weather Advisory issued at 11 a.m., the (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) are expected to bring heavy rainfall to different parts of the country, particularly in Luzon and Eastern Visayas.
Rainfall could be heavier in mountainous or elevated areas, and places that have affected antecedent rainfall are at greater risk of impacts such as flooding and landslides.
Moreover, the DOST-PAGASA reminded the public to stay alert and to continue monitoring their updates.
