The Philippine Air Force (PAF) congratulated Airman First Class Eumir Marcial after he won the bronze medal in the men's middleweight boxing event of the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Marcial entered PAF as an active personnel in 2013, and he currently serves as an organic personnel of the Civil Military Operations Group.
"The men and women of the PAF celebrate this historic event as Marcial bought the 3rd Olympic Medal for the country," LtGen. Allen Paredes, commader of PAF, said on Thursday, August 5, in a statement.
"A1C Marcial remarkably exemplifies Diwa, Galing at Malasakit of the PAF Airmen," he added.
The 25-year old boxer from Zamboanga previously won a silver medal in the men's middleweight division of the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships held in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
The triumph of Marcial came after another PAF personnel, SSG Hidilyn Diaz, won a gold medal in the women's 55 kilogram weightlifting event of the Tokyo Olympics.
